SIPdia does not run on Android yet. Here is the honest status and the Android-specific points to check in any SIP client today.
Android status
SIPdia for Android is not available yet. There is no code for this platform in the SIPdia repository and no release date. This page explains what a SIP softphone on Android involves so you can plan, and where SIPdia stands. Nothing here is a download.SIPdia today ships for macOS 14 and later and for iOS and iPadOS 17 and later. Both apps share one call engine (baresip 4.12 with Opus and OpenSSL), one settings format and one design. The engine itself is portable, which is what makes other platforms practical, but a Android app does not exist yet and no release date is announced.
When a Android release is published, this page will carry the system requirements, package type, version and download link, and the download center will show it alongside the Mac and iPhone apps. Until then there is no download, no beta and no sign-up list.
If you need a SIP softphone on Android now, use the checklist above to evaluate the options available today. Our guides on SIP accounts, transports and troubleshooting apply to any standards-based SIP client.
No. There is no Android app and no release date. SIPdia currently ships for macOS and for iPhone and iPad.
Android restricts background work and network connections to save battery. A softphone either keeps a foreground service running, which costs battery, or relies on push notifications from a server that watches the SIP account. PBXs and providers do not send those by themselves.
A foreground service keeps the registration alive with a persistent notification and periodic keep-alives, and needs no special support from the server. Push wakes the app only when a call arrives, which saves battery but needs a push gateway that speaks SIP to your server.
Yes, the Telecom framework (ConnectionService). Softphones that use it show calls in the system call UI and work with Bluetooth and car head units.
Bring the SIP account you already have. The Mac and iPhone apps are in release preparation; download links appear on the download page when each release is live.
